Getting older with a bad back. I needed to find a replacement for squats. For me doing high rep lightweight squats is not easy. Leg presses offer new ways to hurt your lower back and gut. Rowing with weight engages your entire body. I can't do a complete squat anymore. I can't go completely down (because my knees are shot too). I can do a complete squat type motion on my rower pulling about 150 lbs. I super-set 10 reps throughout a workout of 12 sets. This rower has worked miracles for my total body strength. Very light weight and easy to store. A good answer to "too old to do squats."
