The Safest Barbell Ever Made!
Patented 3-D barbell motion provides for an almost unlimited array of exercises. Smith Machines move vertically only while the BODYCRAFT Jones Club moves both vertically and horizontally, allowing for a more natural, user-defined motion. Because the body’s natural movements can be utilized, all free-weight exercises can be performed. The horizontal motion can also be locked for conventional “Smith Machine” type exercises. This Jones Machine is built for commercial and home use.

  • Hooks and safety spotters travel with you
  • Natural lift off and re-rack
  • Many attachments options available
  • Can be locked for traditional Smith Machine exercises
  • Includes Chin-Up Bar

It is the safest Barbell ever made for the solo lifter! Think of it as a power rack where the bar hooks and safety spotters move along with every movement you make.

  • Reduced risk of Injury
Since the hooks move along with the bar, the “lift off”, and “racking” of the bar are always done at your natural position. You do not need to reach behind your head for pressing exercises, putting your shoulders into an injury prone position. You do not need to lean forward for squats. You can always begin and end your exercises in the most natural, reduced-risk position!
  • Results
The greatest strength gains result from pushing to full muscle fatigue. Since the hooks move along with the Bar, and are spaced at 4-1/2″ intervals, you can push to muscle fatigue and rack the bar at the level where you get stuck by simply rotating your wrists.
No need to rely on the safety spotters when pushing to the limits. (Please always DO set the safety spotters at appropriate height to avoid serious injury.)
  • Easy Transitions
Setting up for the next exercise has never been easier. Simply raise or lower the bar to the desired starting position, add the desired weight, set safety spotters, and lift!

Yes. Simply engage the spring pins to lock the horizontal movement into place for traditional “Smith” exercises.

10 reviews for Jones Commercial

Design makes it better than a smith and better than a power rack. Solid construction – feels like a commercial machine found in a gym. It would be nice if the uprights had some built-in weight racks. Great for solo lifting but don’t get carried away, be sensible.

This is an excellent machine, esp. if you have to lift solo and want free wieghts over the leverage system. This is a very safe product in my view, you just have to be smart and set the safety catch. Takes about 2 seconds. If you don’t set the catches than your not too smart, because with free weights its easy to push too much.

With this system you get the advantage of a free weight system and still have the safety of a leverage arm system. I purchased the steel bar version with the 1000 lbs capacity. I will never be able to even come close to reaching that. I had a leverage bench before this one that I could do everything from bench presses to squats and alot in between but this system is far more effective. Nothing beats free wieghts. This is a 2 dimensional system, works forward and aft but holds solid in the sideways motion or lateral. They actually have a new Jones Machine that is now 3d. Really cool. This is an expensive piece of equipment but it is built solid and it should be around alot longer than you.

This is a wonderfully engineered and versatile machine. With the Jones Machine, plates, a bench and a full rack of dumbbells, my family and I can achieve a great total-body strength workout.

I purchased the Jones Light Commercial in April 2014 and I love it. I have been lifting weights over 40 years and have trained with many different machines but the Jones Light ranks at the top of my favorites as I’m able to buy attachments to work many body parts. We purchased the Functional Crossover and Active Balance bar to complete our purchase. I enjoy the easy fluid movements plus the safety that the machine provides. I actually purchased the Jones Club Machine before this one and loved it so much I decided to buy this machine so I could go from one to another. Additionally, we bought the Jones Freedom and the F660 Linear Bearing Hip Sled too.

Why is it that most reviews are written and posted when a consumer first purchases an item? While this can help with the experience of an initial purchase, does it really indicate the true quality of an item? Its durability? Its ability to achieve, year after year, the same level of performance? That is why after more than ten years of using the Bodycraft Jones machine I am now submitting a testimony. Simply put, this is one awesome piece of exercise equipment! I have had zero problems with anything. The bar, weights and all components work just as well now as they did when I first purchased it. Moreover, if you want solid gains in muscle growth and flexibility, this machine will definitely help you. It is sturdy, well-designed and easily conforms to so many exercises. I guess the real reason we don’t see reviews five, ten and fifteen years after a purchase is simply because most products do not stand up to the test of time – Bodycraft products do.

I am 67 years old and now able to bench press safely and overhead press with my two bad shoulders with weights I thought I could never use before. I am going to be able to press safely which I thought I would never be able to do as I got older. Thanks for the great piece of equipment which has given me a new lease on an active life.

I like the machine. The design is great for working out alone and having a different set height for various lifts. I have the active balance bar on my machine. Sadly it is bent. I’m in my 50’s so not doing 500 lb deadlifts. The Jones would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn’t for the bar bending.

I have this machine with the lat tower, functional trainer and weight racks and I couldn’t be happier. You can pound every inch of your body with this setup. I also have the F660 Linear Hip Sled and between these two machines there is pretty much nothing you can do in a gym that I can’t do. The Jones excels in safety and built to last a freaking lifetime. This thing is built like a tank and is as smooth as silk. I lift hard and heavy and this thing is as solid as the day I bought it. If you add the F660 Linear Hip Sled then you add leg presses, hack squats, calf raises, calf presses and donkey calf raises. And what can I say about Bodycraft — they are great to work with, are very responsive and stand by their products. If you are a free weight person, you’ll love this machine.

Fantastic machine. I was shopping for a smith machine since I work out alone in a basement and am not comfortable with the risk of using a standard rack without assistance available. I stumbled upon the jones machines and was impressed with the function. I ended up ordering the Light commercial machine because the Freedom was out of stock. I have been extremely happy with it. The movements are fluid and everything is extremely high quality. the Active Balance Bar is a incredible option as well, it truly eliminates the negative aspects of the standard smith machine (i.e. restriction to one plane of movement) while retaining the safety aspects. I talked with customer service before placing my order and they were quick and courteous. I would not hesitate to do business with Bodycraft again in the future. Thanks!

I have been using my original jones machine for 15+yrs still working perfectly. bought it originally because I train alone and this was my spotter. bearings still move smooth and free. small amount of surface rust here and there, but not many products last like this has.
