I was very scared to buy this item cause I couldn’t find a single review for it online. I could only find reviews for the Bodycraft PFT, which were all great, but left me not knowing anything about the performance of this machine. The only difference I could find between the two machines was the 3.5″ pulleys vs the 4.5″ on the PFT. I got the machine this weekend, put it together in 5 hours and it is more solid and smooth than I could have imagined! This machine is as smooth as machine’s at any gym I’ve been to. So, this is my first review of any product ever and I’m posting it so no one else has to make the blind purchase I did. Trust me, you will be very happy with this machine! I’m going to copy this and post it on another few website’s I looked at desperately trying to find reviews before buying so don’t think it’s a copy and paste from the manufacturer, I’m just a regular guy with a sweet, high quality machine trying to help out!

I researched a ton before deciding to make this purchase. I’ve encountered many overpriced, “gym quality” machines that are anything but that. This is one of the best pieces of equipment I have ever owned. Very solid, very smooth, even when using much of the weight capacity of the machine. This exceeded expectations and I am very happy with the quality and function. I moved after assembling and using for about a year, and breaking it all down and reassembling had me a bit nervous about messing with the solid feel and function. But, it reassembled in the new place and is still as rock solid as before.

Absolutely love this . It is commercial grade,. It fits perfectly in my family room. I highly recommend this machine as I am a former fitness instructor, PE teacher. You might need the 200 lb. stack.

I upgraded to the Bodycraft HFT after years of using dumbbells and barbells only. The range of exercises I can do and the speed of switching from exercise to exercise makes this machine an excellent addition to my workouts. While I still use some free weight exercises while I train, I can use the HFT to incorporate more exercises in less time which keeps my heart rate up. This is a well built product with a smooth range of motion and it is very easy to change the machines configuration to start your next exercise. I am happy I decided to make the investment in myself and my continued exercise goals.

This is an awesome machine with long cables and flexibility for a lot of different movements and workouts. The machine is easy to adjust both in terms of weight and changing pulley levels. The attachments are good quality and you can add other attachments to the easy fasten cables. Love this machine and it helped my to overcome a serious shoulder injury because of the different angles and weight to build the shoulder back up. Highly recommend it and it doesn’t take up much room compared to some of the bulky poorer designed machines. Well done.

Versatile machine with smooth operation. Good value. Above and beyond customer service when handling a freight carrier error.

I don’t write reviews, EVER. This trainer deserves one. Every aspect of this machine is commercial quality. Assembled myself and every screw, every bolt was laser precise. Best exercise equipment purchase I have made. Thank you Bodycraft for making an exceptional product.

I recently bought this trainer and I love it. Does not take much space in the room. Very well designed and material. Great functional trainer for it’s price.

I bought this to put in our basement, against my wifes wishes. Well lets just say she loves it maybe more than we do. Very smooth operation. Takes up very little room. Can do everything you want to besides powerlifting. Definitely worth every penny we spent. Will be looking for more of your products in the future.

Not knowing what to expect, I must say that I am completely satisfied with the design, and the quality of this home functional trainer. As expected, it took a while to put together, and it was well worth it! This trainer will do far more than anything I need, and I look forward to learning about what else I can do to help me stay in shape and implementing these exercises.

Being a certified personal trainer I have used every type of machine. This is wonderful and well worth the $$.
This was a lifesaver during quarantine when all the gyms were closed. It is sleek enough to put in a bedroom and sturdy enough. This is all you need to work every body part! The quality is great and moves very smoothly. I love this machine and would recommend.

I bought one of the HFT functional trainers a couple of years ago and it is a great machine with a lot of versatility and well thought out. And having had t for a couple of years it holds up very well and is quality craftsmanship.

I spend a lot of time researching what I consider to be a major purchase and the same applied here. There are a lot of good functional trainers available but this one checked the box of “value”. You cannot find a better machine with such capabilities for the price. I live in an area that has just shut down gyms for the second time this year. I am so glad I took the plunge with this to stay in shape during these uncertain times. The HFT is sturdy and stable and can work out your entire body with many exercise options. This is one of my better major purchases ever!

I was worried about purchasing this without seeing one in person first but was pleased to discover that it was a great buy!

It was well packaged and everything came in perfect condition.

Although the assembly instructions looked daunting it really wasn’t too bad. It was a fairly easy assembly that took my wife and I about 3 hours to complete.

The equipment is well made and very heavy duty. I would be inclined to say that it’s better quality than the one at the gym that I used to go to.

I’m very glad that I purchased the HFT from Bodycraft and didn’t go with any of the other competing manufacturers.

If you’re researching functional trainers for a home gym you’ll be happy with Bodycraft.

We’re already considering adding one of their cardio machines.

I did substantial YouTube and retail store research before I purchased the HFT. I could not be happier with its quality and function. It comes with a nice assortment of attachments, but I have purchased others such as a seated rowing/chinning handle and a short center-swivel solid pull down bar to use instead of the rope and long bar, respectively.
In summary it’s an enjoyable, smooth and quiet machine that appears to have many years ahead.

So far so good! I just purchased this for my husband to add to our home gym. We LOVE IT! It is very solid. Assembly was pretty easy considering how nice of a machine this is. We have just been learning how best to orient the machines for all of the various moves. He is over 6′ tall and I am 5-6″ and it works great for both of us!

I purchased this for my garage gym and I love it. It has a small footprint but the feel and variety on this machine is incredible. Very comparable to a commercialized piece of equipment. I highly recommend

I was recently widowed and left with no one to spot me while I was lifting wts. This magnificent machine is smooth, versatile and I feel safe using it alone. The exercise suggestion book built onto the machine is pure genius (had to be designed by a woman). But I also found numerous other videos on youtube that help me plan my workout. Best exercise investment I ever made.

The versatility of this trainer fit our family needs perfectly. We decided to assemble it ourselves and were surprised/impressed with the quality of the fit, no missing/broken parts, adequate directions and well labelled pieces.
We are now big fans of Bodycraft.

Short and Sweet. The welds look good, the powder coating is nice and it is smooth to operate. I was impressed with the packing as well. Nothing was damaged. Very well thought out. Some of the pulleys were a bit tricky to line up to install but no big deal.
My next order will be the resistance bands for quick weight return when I practice my golf swing. Love the way this fits in the corner of my room. It’s a real space saver.

Bought this based upon the reviews, so wanted to add my own and thank everyone for taking the time to make sure my money is not wasted. I have only had this a week and now configured my workout. This machine is very smooth and easy to use. My other machine wobbled and had spotty resistance due to malfunctioning pulleys. The sealed pulleys are smooth so I can feel the weight correctly. Good quality and I found no defects, when even looking at the welds. This is definitely the best fitness purchase, out of many to date. Well worth the price.

I purchased the HFT Functional Trainer for our home gym at the end of January and could not be more pleased with the ease of use and practical applications for our training. I have been going to the gym for decades but not today! Everything we need is right here at home thanks to this equipment along with our free weights, treadmill & elliptical. Bike purchase is next! This is a very solid piece of equipment with quality throughout. Highly recommended

Wow, I am so pleased with how smooth and solid this sucker is. I researched a ton prior to purchasing, and I’m 100% pleased I went with the Bodycraft HFT. Each piece is clearly meticulously designed, and I can’t think of much that I couldn’t do with this machine. I’m finally done with the whole what-home-gym-should-I-purchase-for-all-my-needs thing. Fantastic.

The HFT system really is an all-in-one home gym solution. It is extremely well built and truly is a ‘commercial gym’ quality. I look forward to my workouts everyday, the amount of exercises you do on this machine is incredible. It is the ONLY piece of equipment you need!

Like the rest, I did a lot of searching for what would fit my needs. I stopped at Johnson Fitness and found the HFT on sale for Mother’s Day plus a few more freebies. It was delivered 4 days later by 2 very professional installers. Stop looking and go get this. I should have gotten one years ago.

Solid machine and smooth. Only thing I cannot figure out is how to tighten the cable. I ordered the 200 pounds stacks. The bolts are tightened all the way. Still have 6 inches of excess hanging and sometime th ecable comes off the guide wheels. Help would be appreciated.

Wow! I am more than pleased with my purchase of the HFT. Like a lot of people, when the pandemic hit and my gym closed, it was the perfect time for me to ditch the gym for good and start building my own. Because of the price I had to wait to get this, but after finally pulling the trigger I wish I could have sooner. Assembly was incredibly easy (assembled by myself in under 4 hours) although, at first, the instructions don’t look like it will be. The smoothness and versatility of this machine are top notch. I added the 200lb weight stack and I would highly encourage that since functional trainers cut the weight in half. I am a little concerned that, for certain exercises, I may max out before too long. Bodycraft has built a very solid product in the HFT!

Great for my home gym! So much variety to the exercises I can create that I’ll never get bored with doing the same old – same old. The speed option is totally worth it!

It is solid, high quality, elegant design, and affordable product. If it was lit about taller that was better for pull down lats. I slove it with shorter seat.
Overall, I love this product. Thank you

I was able to try out this machine at a local fitness store so I knew what I was getting. The machine assembles fairly easy (Fitness store would do it for a fee, but I like wrenching! Instruction book took a little deciphering. Lots of steps on one page without the best instructions. It was a lot of fun to assemble). The system looks very nice and operates smoothly, even using the full stack. It is easy to adjust the height of the handles and to switch between accessories. I like the straight bar to mix it up, but take it easy at first as it forces your wrists into a position instead of letting them flow naturally with the individual handles. The triceps handle is really nice, and though I do not use it much, the sports handle is pretty neat. The straight bar is fun for ax chop or martial arts type moves to really strengthen your core. The long strap is helpful for doing pullups since most people cannot do many (or even one). I prefer to stand on the weight stacks and use my legs for pullup assistance as I can change the amount of help I give myself as my muscles are fatiguing (you won’t find that suggestion in the workout book!). I like to do supersets (set of 1 chest/press exercise followed by a lats/pull exercise), keeping the handles at the same height. The next workout day I will do the same thing at a different height to mix it up. You can add as much variety as you like. If you are already pretty strong, you should get the extra weights upgrade right away, even if you plan to be. I will reward myself with it when I earn it. Only minor disassembly to add the extra weights at a later time. Be creative, lots of fun options for workouts. Looking forward to getting the power rowing attachment some day!

This machine gives me everything i need, easy to switch exercises and weight. Solid and very compact. I don’t have a lot of room in my house and this gives me extra room for treadmill and elliptical for cardio.

This machine has been a real pleasant surprise. It fits perfectly in the room, provides gym quality smoothness and an almost infinite variety of strength training exercises. will see how it holds up over time, but i wish i would have acquired this years ago. in these covid days it is hard to get to the gym, now i do not need to!

    Chris

Been using it for a long time and I only have a couple critiques.

    – The assisted pullup strap is too long. I wish it was the same size as the long bar. I’m 6’5 and setting the strap to the highest position doesn’t give me enough assistance (just barely not enough). The swiveling pulley also touches my elbow when it’s set to the highest position. It’s also kind of awkward getting off. I wish the strap was completely level with my feet like a trampoline.

    – I wish there were more holes at the bottom so I can set the pulley lower (although structurally this may not be sound)

    – It would be nice if there were more hooks to throw attachments onto (another four on the back would be nice). I ended up getting a longer tricep rope (36″) with no good spot to put it.

I ended up enjoying the book more than I thought I would, ended up being a nice touch. The pulleys are nice and smooth.

Thank you for this review Chris! We are happy to hear you have been enjoying your HFT for a long time.
The assisted pullup strap has been shortened since your purchase. The HFT Pro now comes with an assist strap that is only 50 inches total length.

With my busy work schedule I did not have time to go to the gym anymore. I went to look at another machine at a retail store and the HFT was set up beside it. Hands down it was a no Brainer to go with the HFT. At 60 I thought about the additional weight stack but went with 150lb. So glad I went with this machine!!! One very satisfied customer!!!!!!!

    Chris

Works great. Really easy to damage parts of unit by over tightening fasteners… don’t say the manual and I didn’t warn you. Great when assembled.

    Michael Evans

I was initially looking at this machine and a couple of others solely based on the dimensions , due to a low ceiling height in my basement. I wanted to maximize usability without sacrificing too much due to the shorter height. This machine was the absolute maximum height I could fit and I am glad I didn’t chose one any shorter. Ultimately though, I went with this one due to reviews and the outstanding warranty.
The lower initial amount of the weight stack was a concern, but the add on plates available were reasonably priced.
Overall I am very satisfied with this machine. The quality is excellent, the pulleys motion is very smooth and the pull up bar design is better than most.

I do have a few nitpicks that I think would elevate the product even more if addressed.
    1. the pulley height adjusters are a sleeve that slide up and down the adjustment columns, and While not all that difficult to use, they do get hung up a bit at various points along the column. some sort of Bearing or roller system would improve on this.
    2. The Angle of the Pulley adjuster makes doing higher positioned exercises more difficult. This is especially true when using heavier weights, as you have to drag the ball stopper around the protruding edge.
    3. the bolts attaching the pullies to the pulley adjuster stick out enough to where when they pullies are rotated fully inwards, the bolt makes contact with the machine. either a rubber stopper or cover for the bolt would help.
    4. the accessories attachments that come with the machine could be a more useful package. The single handles. long bar, ankle strap and triceps rope are pretty standard. However the chains aren’t really necessary and the sport bar will only be useful to a very select group. I would suggest changing those two out for a W bar or short straight bar .
    5. this one is just my own OCD gripe, but the stickers that go on the weights don’t need to cover so much area. just keep them the same as the number 1. the problem with them is they are cumbersome to place exactly right arching over the pin selector hole and get mangled a bit by the selector pin.
None of these things would have prevented me from purchasing the machine and overall I am satisfied with the design and quality. I definitely would recommend this functional trainer to anyone who wants the best value for their money.
